September at The Duke: Wanstead Fringe 2026
A whole month of music, food, good people and plenty of reasons to pop down to The Duke.
September is looking pretty special at The Duke, as we join in with Wanstead Fringe 2026 for a packed month of live music, DJs, food, quizzes, creative nights, drag bingo, local brews and plenty of community spirit.
Whether you’re here for a big night out, a Sunday singalong, a few pints with friends or simply fancy trying something a little different, here’s what we’ve got lined up…
🎧 Friday 4 September — Disco Volante DJs: DJ Melie

We’re kicking things off with DJ Melie and the Disco Volante crew. Expect disco, house and vinyl all night long — the perfect way to start the Fringe weekend.
🎉 Saturday 5 September — The Duke Street Party
From 12pm · Free
The big one!
We’re kicking off the Wanstead Fringe in proper Duke style with our annual street party, taking over Nightingale Lane for an afternoon and evening of live music, street food and kids’ entertainment.
We’ll be bringing the party outside with a big stage, plenty to eat and drink, and lots happening for the little ones too.
Come for lunch, stay for the music, and get involved in one of Wanstead’s favourite neighbourhood celebrations.

Ease into Sunday evening with Lila & Louis, bringing acoustic singalong fun to The Duke.
Good tunes, good drinks and a relaxed Sunday atmosphere, what more do you need?
🎨 Tuesday 8 September — Sip & Paint

Fancy getting creative over a drink?
Join us for a relaxed evening of Sip & Paint, where you can paint your own masterpiece while you sip, socialise and have a bit of fun.
No experience necessary and all materials are provided, just bring yourself and let the creativity flow.

This time, Love For Life presents Luna, bringing the sounds of disco, house and vinyl to The Duke.

🌮 Tuesday 15 September — Tavern Taco Takeover

Things are getting seriously tasty.
Leytonstone Tavern takes over the kitchen, serving up their authentic, award-winning street-food tacos with £5 Margaritas all night to wash them down.
💃 Thursday 17 September — Duke Drag Bingo

Get ready for a night of outrageous fun as Duke Drag Bingo comes to town.
Expect hilarious games, killer performances, party anthems and, of course, plenty of prizes.

We’re celebrating Cask Ale Week by putting all cask pints at just £5 throughout the week.

Keep the Fringe celebrations going with another night of Disco Volante.
A Drop of the Hard Stuff takes over the decks for another Friday night of disco, house and vinyl.
Free entry, good music and no reason to go home early.
🍻 Wednesday 23 September — An Evening with East London Brewing Co.

Join us for a special evening with East London Brewing Co.
Discover the brewery, hear the stories behind the beers and enjoy a guided tasting with head brewer Paul.
A relaxed evening of good beer, good stories and a chance to get to know one of East London’s independent brewing favourites a little better.

Our house The Dukes of Duke bring their own folky twist, energy and musicianship to the stage and they’ve become something of a local treasure in the process.
Expect big tunes, plenty of energy and, as always, a band that knows how to bring the party.

🏏 Saturday 26 September — Fringe Volunteers x Wanstead Cricket Club EOS Party

A celebration of two groups who make our community what it is: Wanstead Cricket Club and the Wanstead Fringe volunteers.
Come and join the local legends for an end-of-season shindig, with DJ Matt Hinton from 9pm and free beers for Fringe volunteers.
A proper community party to round off the month.
